چکیده

Motivated by applications in sociology, economy and medicine, we study variants of the Target Set Selection problem, first proposed by Kempe, Kleinberg and Tardos. In our scenario one is given a graph G = (V,E), integer values t(v) for each vertex v (thresholds), and the objective is to determine a small set of vertices (target set) that activates a given number (or a given subset) of vertices of G within a prescribed number of rounds. The activation process in G proceeds as follows: initially, at round 0, all vertices in the target set are activated; subsequently at each round r ≥ 1 every vertex of G becomes activated if at least t(v) of its neighbors are already active by round r− 1. It is known that the problem of finding a minimum cardinality Target Set that eventually activates the whole graph G is hard to approximate to a factor better than O(2 1−ǫ |V ). In this paper we give exact polynomial time algorithms to find minimum cardinality Target Sets in graphs of bounded clique-width, and exact linear time algorithms for trees.

Optimal Harmonization of Out-Network Traffic Control Regulations in Social Networks

Regulations of use of social networks, as one of the key components in these networks, serve an important role in controlling the flow of traffic. The study of the harmonization of these terms and regulations can be a significant step to avoid congestion and (Users’) rejection in the network. Harmonization of traffic control regulations (TCR) among social networks is one of the best solutions t...

The Role of Virtual Media in Changing Social Values with an Emphasis on Telegram and Facebook Social Networks

This study aims to investigate the role played by social networks, including Facebook and Telegram, in changing the social life styles of the young and middle-aged generations of Iranian society. The research method consists of survey group of 512 people of the young and middle-aged generations selected from 5 provinces using multi-stage cluster sampling. Data were collected using a research-ma...

Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Data Offloading Approaches for Mobile Social Networks

Cellular networks are facing severe traffic overloads due to the proliferation of smart handheld devices and traffic hungry applications. This paper tries to offload the cellular network traffic through Opportunistic Communications and Social Participation formed by the short-range communication technologies in the smart phones (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth). We design an Enhanced Greedy algorithm fo...

On Joint Sub-channel Allocation, Duplexing Mode Selection, and Power Control in Full-Duplex Co-Channel Femtocell Networks

As one of the promising approaches to increase the network capacity, Full-duplex (FD) communications have recently gained a remarkable attention. FD communication enables wireless nodes to simultaneously send and receive data through the same frequency band. Thanks to the recent achievements in the self-interference (SI) cancellation, this type of communication is expected to be potentially uti...

A Novel Approach for Detecting Relationships in Social Networks Using Cellular Automata Based Graph Coloring

All the social networks can be modeled as a graph, where each roles as vertex and each relationroles as an edge. The graph can be show as G = [V;E], where V is the set of vertices and E is theset of edges. All social networks can be segmented to K groups, where there are members in eachgroup with same features. In each group each person knows other individuals and is in touch ...
